Tweed River near Banora Point

Banora Point doesn't shout — that's the point. Ten minutes from the Gold Coast chaos, wrapped around a bend of the Tweed River, it's where you go when you want the weekend to breathe. Here's the version we recommend to guests.

Friday night

Check in, drop the bags, straight to the terrace bar — the river catches the sunset west-facing. Dinner at Riverbend if you want easy, Ember & Oak if the weekend needs a statement. The gaming floor is there if that's your night — the pool and sauna are there if it isn't.

Saturday

Walk the river path before breakfast — flat, shaded, genuinely pretty. Coolangatta beach is ten minutes for the surf fix; Tweed Heads markets run Sunday mornings if you time it right. Back for a spa session in the afternoon — the 2 pm slots are the sweet spot.

Sunday

Slow breakfast, late checkout (it exists — ask), then the hinterland drive: Murwillumbah for coffee, the rail trail if you brought bikes. You'll be home before the Sunday feeling sets in.
